Flavor bases, also known as palatants, are blends of ingredients crafted to enhance the aroma and taste of medications and supplements. This enhancement encourages animals to voluntarily consume these products, ensuring they receive the necessary medication and nutrition for longer, healthier lives.
Our flavor bases are sold on a worldwide basis including the United States of America, Europe, Canada, Mexico, India, and South America.
Flavoring is integrated into the manufacturing process of pet medicines or supplements. When Pet Flavors’ bases are added during manufacturing, they not only mask scents and tastes of medications but also contribute to consistent dosage form delivery to the animal.
Our bases are adaptable to soft chews, chewable tablets, granules, gel capsules, creams, and pastes. We also offer water soluble flavors, so they can be introduced into liquid formulations, forming solutions or microfine suspensions depending on the flavor utilized.
Our bases find applications in a wide range of medications and supplements. Products currently leveraging our flavor bases include flea and heartworm preventatives, dewormers, as well as medications to treat congestive heart failure, pain and inflammation, antibiotics, and joint health supplements.

PF flavor bases are extremely stable. The majority of our products have 3 years of shelf life. Artificial Powdered Beef Flavor; PC-0125, our preeminent flavor base, has 5 years of shelf life.
